Ultra High Definition (UHD) – 4K/8K

UHDUltra High Definition was introduced to the world in 2003 by NHK as the next video experience. UHD defines two video resolutions: 4K and 8K.

  • 4K (2160p) has a resolution of 3840 × 2160 (8.3 megapixels), 4 times the pixels of 1080p
  • 8K (4320p) has a resolution of 7680 × 4320 (33.2 megapixels), 16 times the pixels of current 1080p HDTV

Today, ten years later after UHD was introduced to the world, due to technology evolvement and the new standards vendors begin to offer different components enabling 4K/8K video experience. CS offers UHD (4K and 8K) solution for video transmission networks using state of the art components developed by leading vendors.

Remarks:

  • 1x server to play video clips (loop) over an ASI output to feed a Satellite Modulator
  • UHD IRD system is put into a 6RU cabinet (transportable)
  • Configuration example:
    • Video 4K: 3840 x 2160 @ 50 Hz, progressive
    • Recommended video rates: 30 to 50 Mbps
